Biography

Mare Vaccaro was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in sculpture from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana and a Master of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design, New School, in New York City. She continued her studies following graduate school: participating in residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, the School of Visual Arts in New York City and in Vallauris, France.

A genetic miscoding at birth eventually rendered Vaccaro hairless as an adult. This event was the motivation for the artist’s current body of work. She resides in New York City where she maintains a studio   She is currently represented by Los Angles Center for Digital Arts.
